Job description

Program Managers, RM, manage product releases that are large in scope and impact to customers and to the Advertising business, they are expected to influence product development strategy to launch the right advertising solutions for Advertisers. Beyond RM responsibilities, they autonomously gain partner buy-in and implement mechanisms that raise the release readiness bar for all Advertising Products and tools globally. They build simplified processes that automate repeatable activities, promote global standardization, improve testing rigour, remove internal process bottlenecks, and drive productivity gains. They leverage their expertise of operational processes and their deep understanding of product architecture to influence prioritization of product requirements.

A day in the life

While Product Managers drive product vision and technical requirements; Program Managers, RM, provide data-driven cross-product business understanding of releases impact and success. They drive shared goals and gain investments prioritization alignment. Lastly, Release Managers are excellent at driving results, able to coordinate large, multi-functional projects on-time, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make trade-offs, and balance business needs versus technical constraints. They are involved in reviewing product workflow design and balance near term business need with longer term implications for Amazon. They rationalize business priorities and technical requirements with cross-functional teams, effectively managing cross-functional communication to ensure all business and technical stakeholder’s needs are aligned.

The candidate will have high standards for themselves and everyone they work with, and will be constantly looking around corners to prevent short sighted decisions. Basic Qualifications

  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior management
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
  • 5+ years experience in program or project management or 3+ years of experience with an MBA

  • Manage spreadsheets and data analysis of sales enablement activities and results
  • Conduct an analysis of the current state of sales productivity in conjunction with Sales Operations and map the sales process with our customer’s buying process to understand and enhance what skills, knowledge, process, and tools are required by our sales team to increase velocity and conversion rates at each stage of the process
  • Support the development of global vertical sales enablement through sharing best practices through the creation and delivery of a detailed sales enablement strategy
  • Conduct an analysis of current skills, knowledge, and processes and work with the sales leadership team to identify strengths and areas for development
  • Develop and manage a sales enablement roadmap by providing a dashboard of information for executive consumption
  • Support the development, implementation, and delivery of effective sales playbooks in close collaboration with regional sales, sales architects, ecosystem sales, sales operations, sales development and training, marketing, and the product business units
  • Create and update playbooks based on seller feedback and shifting market demands
  • Organize and schedule internal and external meetings within budget, including logistics, attendees, materials, and communications to support relevant sales enablement activities
  • Assist in the preparation of slide presentations and spreadsheets and participate in core regional and global meetings

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of product, project, program, or field marketing experience

Roles/Responsibilities

  • Acts as Program Manager in finding, shaping and closing client opportunities; may act as overall opportunity lead
  • Owns program management tasks for Deal Pursuits and Strategic Engagements, including governance, roadmaps, change management, and Program Mobilization areas; responsible for proposed program plan, commercial model, governance model, change management model and team construct
  • Partners with Solution Architect (Showrunner) and others to craft Experience, Capability, Organizational, Operational and Technology Roadmaps
  • Oversee interface into strategic costing and contractual negotiation teams
  • Ensures compliance with deal requirements as well as frame for going ‘beyond the ask’
  • Manages budgets and people allocations
  • Trusted Advisor to Client Program, Operations and Business leadership

Required Qualifications

  • +12 years of prior professional experience in program management roles
  • Expertise in two or more industries (e.g. healthcare, manufacturing) and able to translate to others
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) and consulting skills and the ability (or potential) to interact at all levels
  • Well versed in major digital business trends; ability to quickly become well versed in Cognizant positioning and offerings
  • Well able to navigate internal networks of capabilities and people; establish highly effective networks and collaboration
  • Proven experience with change management, commercial models, governance and operational design
  • Able to balance long-term planning with short term execution
  • Able to direct and coordinate across many different types of delivery style, mindset and approach
  • Able to quickly form trusted advisor relationships
  • Substantial experience as a senior “hands on” manager running a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change, flexibly adapt to a rapidly changing environment and generate effective and innovative solutions to address change
  • Ability to work with a diverse and distributed workforce
  • A track record and inclination for thriving in a fast-moving, and sometimes ambiguous, environment.
