Organizational Mission

Preparing students in underserved communities for the future of work through engaging and accessible technology learning programs.

Purpose

The program manager is someone who is passionate about organizational mission and empowering students. They will coordinate and facilitate engaging K-12 technology learning programs, ensuring programs meet objectives, assist in developing curriculum according to age group and available resources, and researches best content and resource options. The program manager will implement social-emotional learning & learn through play engagement principles and utilize an evaluation rubric to understand & improve program impact. They work diligently to honor host site relationships and work with students and their families to inform and offer the best options to continued opportunities. This is a nonsupervisory position.

Job details

Program Management – 30%

  • Create, communicate, and lead a shared community vision of education that cuts down barriers to success and creates opportunities and outcomes for students
  • Understand goals, scope, sequence, and strategic importance of education programs
  • Oversee program progress towards timely achievement of learning objectives
  • Manage grant funding requirements pertinent to programs
  • Confidently and knowledgeably discuss programming, education model, curriculum options, and curriculum impact
  • Seamlessly adapt program delivery depending on community context
  • Compile team data collection for impact assessments and quarterly reporting
  • Manage relationships with host site liaisons to ensure mutual understanding of program outcomes & success

Program Facilitation - 60%

  • Lead learning labs, competitive teams, and day class programming at host sites
  • Use innovation, engagement principles, and coordination skills to facilitate the coding, robotics, and other technology programs safe and educational environment
  • Build and develop partnerships with host site’s administrators and teachers
  • Cultivate meaningful, positive relationships with students through programs
  • Commitment to culturally responsive teaching practices and continuous learning through professional development and ongoing evaluation & reflective practices
  • Manage program impact measurements, attendance, rubrics, pictures, media, and as well as systems data tracking, upkeep procedures, and safety standards

Strategic Leadership- 10%

  • Collaborate with program team & executive director to drive organizational results
  • Research & present new resources, curriculum content, & competitive team options
  • Attend regular meetings with both cM and host sites, including leadership meetings, staff meetings, education meetings, and review meetings

Skills & Experience 

  • Ability to work with K-12 youth in an engaging manner while directing their experience
  • Respect for, knowledge of, and skills to engage with people from different cultures and backgrounds with an emphasized value of diversity, equity & inclusion
  • Proven passion around racial and social justice and eliminating systemic barriers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong planning, strategy and project management skills
  • Robust critical thinking skills with flexibility to shifting priorities & new opportunities
  • Career pathway experience including work with young BIPOC and female students a plus
  • Coding & robotics content knowledge preferred
