Job Description:

• Creates and implements a communication plan. Builds an effective team, assigns tasks to team members and evaluates outcomes. Negotiates resources.
• Communicates to stakeholders and project sponsors. Identifies, tracks, and ensures resolution of issues and removal of barriers. Provides technical support to project team members. Handles complex application features and technical designs. Designs and implements the components required for complex application features. Generally manages a group of applications system analysts. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Professional certification is highly desirable.
• May require specific PC, workstation, operating system, application, or platform skills.
• Provides overall direction to the formulation, development, implementation, and delivery of a project. Exercises management responsibility for the achievement of performance, revenue, and profit objectives of a project and its contracts.
• Ensures that the project plan maintains tasks, schedules, estimates, and status, and disseminates information to team members and customers. Creates a structure and organization for the management of a complex environment with an emphasis on quality, productivity, and consistency. Directs corrective actions in any area where performance falls below objectives. Arranges for the assignment of responsibility to other supporting facilities, business areas, and support functions, and monitors their performance. Self-directed and independent. Responsible for the coordination and completion of projects. Oversees all aspects of projects.
• Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of the project. Prepares reports for upper management regarding the status of the project.

Required Skills

• Documented experience in successfully managing IT Enterprise Resource Planning Projects (full project lifecycle) > $2,000,000 – Required 3 years.
• Proven record of delivering projects on time and within budget – Required 5 years.
• Proven history of managing a project in a multi-vendor environment, and daily interaction with executives. – Required 5 years.
• Experience in managing IT projects in a government environment (functional matrixed environment) – Highly desired 3 years.
• Experience creating/managing comprehensive project plans (with multiple parallel lines), utilizing PMO industry flows and tools. – Required 3 years.

Position Summary:

Schedule, plan, resource, and manage all technical activities aimed at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:     

• Develop work scope, costs (labor, subcontract, materials, tools, etc.) and submit bids for field service solutions.
• Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned field service projects
• Lead and execute onsite line-up meetings with field technicians at customer locations for critical projects and provide technical guidance as needed
• Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair to ensure that machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.

The Senior Project Manager provides leadership on assigned projects and acts to achieve financial, safety, and client relationship objectives.

Key Activities And Responsibilities

• Manages delivery of individual projects and holds primary responsibility for achievement of cost, schedule and quality objectives.
• Oversees activities of Project Engineers, Construction Manager, and Site Superintendents on assigned projects.
• Ensures achievement of safety objectives on assigned projects.
• Ensures achievement of corporate goals for assigned projects.
• Coordinates resources to achieve project goals.
• Manages client interaction on assigned projects and promotes positive relationships.
• Identifies risks to project and corporation and works with Project Directors and Director of Operations to mitigate risks.

Works closely with Construction Manager and Superintendents to ensure that field events, conditions, exceptions, and issues are fully reflected in cost reports. Carefully forecasts final cost of project periodically.
• Manages changes to prime contract, including change control documentation and related financial documentation. Vigorously protects corporate positions.
• Coordinates with Accounting to invoice client and manage Accounts Receivable to meet corporate goals. Works with financial group to manage project financial issues.
• Ensures achievement of contractually required quality in design and works with Construction Manager and Superintendents to ensure achievement of contractually required quality in construction.
• Oversees site safety for assigned projects and coordinates with Construction Manager, Superintendents and safety resources, including sub-consultants, to establish site safety program, monitor site safety and correct non-conformances.
• Monitors design content and coordinates design revisions for constructibility and compliance with basis documents, schedule, and budget.
• Procures and coordinates all required project resources, including intra-divisional, inter-divisional, and extra corporate.
• Prepares and manages subcontracts and purchase orders, including change control documentation and related financial documentation. Preparation of subcontracts and PO’s at IPS is a Procurement Management activity.
• Coordinate with Financial group to evaluate vendor and subcontractor invoices and arrange for payment as required to meet project and corporate goals.
• Ensures fluid, organized, documented communication between all project participants.
• Adapts IPS Business Processes and Workflows to specific Client/ Prime Contract requirements.
• Ensures that all project documents are distributed, reviewed, and stored to meet project and corporate requirements. Project documents include records of communications, design documents, bid packages and addenda and bulletins thereto, and submittals, among others.
• Ensures that all IPS design, construction, and compliance activities on project delivery projects comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Manages submissions and payments to authorities having jurisdiction to obtain permits for all IPS activities.
• Supports project/client development process with presentations and related marketing activities.
• Supports Project Executives, Director of Operations, and General Manager in preparation of project delivery proposals.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS /WORK EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related discipline or an equivalent technical degree.
• A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in Project Delivery or a related discipline. Demonstrate significant experience both in terms of industry knowledge and positions of leadership.

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT AND SAFETY

• This position will have 25% travel, or as required by the assigned project. Position may be assigned to client site for an extended period of time. Overnight travel or staying in the city of Client’s location is possible depending on assignment. Please review IPS Travel Policy. Position will visit Client sites and will be required to adhere to stated safety rules. Position will visit construction sights and will be required to take site safety training and adhere to site safety rules.

What We're Looking For

Responsible for the leadership and management of a highway design team in support of the project’s profitable operation. What You'll Need

• Performs technical discipline tasks including research, reports, design, specification and plan preparation to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects.
• Actively manages project scope, schedule and budget. Serves as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets and scope of work to completion and to the client’s satisfaction.
• Implements the firm’s project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery
• Approach (SDA) on each project.
• Develops project scope and fee quotation, and assists in the preparation of proposals and contracts.
• Coordinates work efforts and reviews of work performed by project team. Supervises and mentors team to overall project objectives.
• Oversees project staffing with departments, offices and divisions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• 8 years relevant experience
