The Senior Data Solutions Project Manager will have complete responsibility for the day-to-day management of the engagement, including all aspects related to managing our consulting team and structuring the architecture for Data projects resulting in a successful delivery and a satisfied, reference-able client.

Job Overview:

A Senior Project Manager is expected to be knowledgeable in two or more technologies within Data Solutions. They may or may not have a programming background, but will have expert infrastructure architecture, client presales / presentation, team management and thought leadership skills.

You will also contribute in a variety of roles in thought leadership, mentorship, systems analysis, architecture, design, configuration, testing, debugging, and documentation. You will challenge your leading edge solutions, consultative and business skills through the diversity of work in multiple industry domains. This role is considered part of the Business Unit Senior Leadership team and may mentor junior architects and other delivery team members.

Responsabilities

  • Lead large data platform implementations including multi-shore and multi-capability.
  • Define program operating model for a large, multi-shore, multiple business unit level program with complex eco-system of client personas, vendor personas, and Perficient teams
  • Define and have a clear, high level understanding of the project/program goals and the status towards them, to be able to articulate progress, milestones achieved, risks and issues to any internal or external stakeholder, even if possible, help the team anticipate and prevent issues with adequate risk management and laser focus on goal-orientation
  • See the whole picture (the forest, not the tree) of the business, it's drivers, actors involved and processes, that will allow him to help the team that is more on the day to day on not losing sight of that big picture and the north they are following
  • Define the goals of the program and key KPI's/OKR's to measure and monitor them
  • Proactively develop strong relationships with Business and IT leaders from the C-suite level to front line delivery consultant
  • Build trust with clients, stakeholders and team members alike, with empathy, great communication and negotiation skills
  • Create evaluation frameworks and facilitate project prioritization discussions and decisions.
  • Drive guidance and leadership around resource planning against the prioritized portfolio of projects
  • Provide leadership expertise on Agile product delivery working very closely with Agile coach and Scrum masters
  • Engage with the project teams and the business to understand project and resource needs
  • Provide comprehensive visibility into project status even for those projects not directly involved.
  • Define and implement necessary processes and tools to support adoption of PMO administration across the enterprise including the creation of templates and training materials
  • Ensure monitoring of progress against all projects is timely and accurate and enables Sponsors and stakeholders to have visibility and sufficient information to make required decisions
  • Cultivate highly functioning teams comprised of Perficient and client resources; the ability to effectively manage the engagement while recognizing and leveraging the expertise of the different resources and the importance of their contributions is critical.
  • Ensure deliverables are of the highest quality to promote client satisfaction.
  • Produce key project management deliverables such as project charters, project plans, resource plans, risk mitigation plans, change management plans, etc.
  • Mentor and provide solutions delivery expertise to less experienced team members.
  • Monitor engagement team performance and provide feedback.
  • Team with the business developer to drive ongoing client development activities.
  • Participate on client engagement steering committees as necessary to set client expectations and issue and resolution management.
  • Lead the business development efforts from a delivery perspective.
  • Develop overall estimates of the effort / resource requirements / schedule.

Qualifications

  • 12 + years of experience 
  • Have a solid understanding of delivery methodology and lead teams in the implementation of the solution according to the design/architecture
  • Strong client management and executive level communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage data projects leveraging agile methodologies.   
  • Able to translate strategic roadmaps into an actionable program plan.  
  • ​Solid technical understanding of data governance, data quality, and capability management
  • Experience managing large data platform implementations including multi-shore and multi-capability. Technology experience should include Data, Business Intelligence, ETL Platforms,  Master Data Management, and Platforms
  • Experience leading and delivering complex enterprise solutions and teams.
  • Serving as the senior delivery resource for consulting engagements; cultivating highly functioning teams comprised of Perficient and client resources.
  • Client facing or consulting experience highly preferred.
  • Skilled problem solvers with the desire and proven ability to create innovative solutions.
  • Flexible and adaptable attitude, disciplined to manage multiple responsibilities and adjust to varied environments.

  • Proven track record working with and selling to the stakeholders, executives, and decision makers of Fortune 1000 companies.
  • Proven domain expertise with experience building business cases and communicating client-specific value proposition and establishing yourself as a trusted adviser.
  • Leading technical discussions with business and technical decision makers, including detailing technical specifications, product roadmaps, deployment, and third-party integrations
  • Demonstrated capability to handle Proof of Concept and solution demonstrations.
  • Experience coordinating Sales team members to develop sales scripts, discovery process, best practices, sharing expertise/training and guiding solution development.
  • Experience with recruiting, personnel management, and performance reviews.
  • Experience in sales support role, particularly discovery meetings, demos, roadmaps, and engagement assessment.
  • Must be open to travel post COVID

PURPOSE

Manage, analyze and provide accurate and relevant data for Project Leaders to make informed decisions on strategies and tactics to mitigate risk, control cost, and ensure customer satisfaction related to assigned project. The Project Management Analyst (PMA) typically supports a project which is medium to large in scope and may also support a phase or portion of a large, complex project.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage performance dashboards, analyze event triggers and alerts and determine appropriate follow up for Project Leader or others to act upon.
  • Coordinate project schedules, estimates, cost control, risk management activities.
  • Review and approve project invoices on behalf of Project Leader or Project Integration Manager.
  • Implement change order control processes.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including good command of English language.

Interacting on a daily basis with product and project managers in Toptal’s talent network, you will be responsible for maintaining the quality and integrity of talents whom we send to clients, while also helping talent from every corner of the world find their dream job. Being central to Toptal’s operations you will also be the source of feedback for product development and operational processes around the entire Talent Operations function.

Responsibilities

As a Director of Project & Product Management, you will be the direct link between the Top PJM/PDMs that pass our screening process and the clients that are looking to engage them. On a daily basis, you will work closely with multiple Toptal clients on understanding their requirements and needs and finding the best possible candidate for them inside Toptal’s talent network. You will also ensure talent and clients are working together successfully when the engagement has started. Finally, you will be providing input into our processes and tools, as well as working on special projects on occasion to support Toptal on it’s path of continuous improvement.

Interacting on a daily basis with product and project managers in Toptal’s talent network, you will be responsible for maintaining the quality and integrity of talents whom we send to clients, while also helping talent from every corner of the world find their dream job. Being central to Toptal’s operations you will also be the source of feedback for product development and operational processes around the entire Talent Operations function.

This is a remote position that can be done from anywhere. Due to the remote nature of this role, we are unable to provide visa sponsorship. Resumes and communication must be submitted in English.

Responsibilities

As a Director of Project & Product Management, you will be the direct link between the Top PJM/PDMs that pass our screening process and the clients that are looking to engage them. On a daily basis, you will work closely with multiple Toptal clients on understanding their requirements and needs and finding the best possible candidate for them inside Toptal’s talent network. You will also ensure talent and clients are working together successfully when the engagement has started. Finally, you will be providing input into our processes and tools, as well as working on special projects on occasion to support Toptal on it’s path of continuous improvement.

In The First Week, Expect To

  • Onboard and integrate into Toptal.
  • Rapidly begin learning about Toptal’s history, culture, and vision.
  • Familiarize yourself with the team’s tools, processes, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Become proficient with Toptal’s platform. *Shadow calls with the vertical lead and peers in PJM & PDM, as well as folks in our sales organization.

In The First Month, Expect To

  • Take on your first client calls and manage their engagement with Toptal.
  • Become familiar with various teams in Toptal and understand how they contribute to the company’s success.
  • Partner with both SMB and enterprise sales team to serve our clients to ensure their success.
  • Work closely with the talent and address their needs.

In The First Three Months, Expect To

  • Build a mature client portfolio.
  • Track both individual and reference to team metrics as it relates to your OKRs
  • Resolve any client-talent disputes which may arise in your client portfolio.

In The First Six Months, Expect To

  • Become eligible to take on Toptal’s major accounts, including top tier brands and clients.
  • With a full grasp of the role, you will start making your own minor process adjustments and suggestions. *Individual OKRs are within the average of the team OKRs (with short term deviation)

About The Team
 
Our recommendations algorithms are a central part of the Scribd product and one of the biggest drivers of new book discoveries. This team is using a wide variety of technologies including Ruby on Rails, ElasticSearch, Scala Spark, Hive, Cassandra, MySQL, and Redis. Our team boasts several recent accomplishments such as building a multi armed bandit system for personalized recommendations, adding millions of cross content recommendations through topic extraction, and a fuzzy matching text filter that can instantly detect two similar, but not identical, passages of text out of a database of all the books in the world. We’re looking for an experienced engineering manager to help guide and develop our recommendation features and the team of engineers focused on building our ever-smarter recommendation system. Our engineers are smart, dedicated, and they love solving difficult challenges and pushing themselves to rethink the way they write software. They look to their manager for organizational transparency, career development, mentorship and honest feedback. They rely on their leadership to guide productivity by removing obstacles and keeping processes lean. About You
 
You are experienced in leading, coaching and mentoring software development teams that deliver stable, high-quality software. You have a technical background, are able to contribute to planning and design discussions, code reviews and architectural decisions and believe in building teams and practices that scale. You can motivate and instill a strong sense of ownership and pride in your team. You will own driving the technology roadmap in partnership with product managers to meet business & user needs. You know and care about software engineering standards and methodologies. You know how to make this team shine and by extension, all of Scribd.
 
What You'll Do
  • Manage a growing recommendations engineering team to deliver on key company goals as it relates to creating algorithms that will ensure that every recommendation leads to what our readers like to read.
  • Have regular 1:1s with the recommendations team and perform annual performance evaluations.
  • Maintain our happy and healthy culture, and advocate for your engineers across the company.
  • Act as the hiring manager for the team, screening resumes, performing interviews and growing the team with the best talent the world has to offer.
  • Triage Jira tickets as they are filed. Ensure the important work gets done and that the engineers’ workloads are perfectly balanced.
  • Have a sense of a management style that works for you, a leadership approach and philosophy that is flexible to adapt to the needs and style of your team.
  • Define goals and timelines, unblock obstacles, tackle questions and challenges that arise so your team can continue to focus on programming.
  • Create a culture of shared learning, architectural reviews and mentorship.

You have

  • Demonstrated progression in technical capability throughout your career, especially in server-side engineering creating or maintaining search or recommendations systems.
  • A minimum of 2 years or more experience directly managing 3 or more engineers.
  • Ruby on Rails experience is a plus Demonstrated ability to recruit and lead technical teams, including performance management.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals, ideally from a computer science degree.
  • Experience collaborating with designers, product managers, and other engineering leaders.
  • Excellent software engineering aptitude and the ability to provide technical mentorship and guidance.
  • Solid Engineering and Computer Science fundamentals, ideally with a degree in CS, Math, or equivalent experience (dropped out to build your own startup? Great!)

Vermont Works for Women seeks a Women’s Program Manager for our Employment & Career Services to provide career coaching and job search support to women through one-on-one coaching, workshops, and maintenance of an online classroom and career mentor network. This includes cultivating and maintaining relationships with employers and community partners to ensure VWW is well-connected in the workforce development space. The Manager will help develop new programs and outreach methods to meet the rapidly changing employment landscape and to meet the needs of a wide-range of women. The Manager uses their expertise to represent the needs and challenges of women in the workforce both internally to improve and create effective programming, and externally with donors, policy makers, community partners, and other stakeholders.
