Responsibilities

  • Provide project leadership on multi-disciplined teams in delivery of architecture and engineering services to support the needs of our Federal clientele
  • Establish and discuss project goals, objectives, design standards and procedures with project team and Federal Market Sector Leader
  • Determine personnel needs for assigned projects based upon current and projected workload
  • Assist Federal Market Sector Leader with proposal development in pursuit of new business; solicit input from technical leads and lead the development of comprehensive cost proposals
  • Lead and facilitate work planning activities with project team to ensure coordinated and timely project delivery
  • Manage consultant team members as needed on projects including defining scope of work, expectations, and fee allocations, formalize agreements and coordinate their interaction with internal team.
  • Coordinate and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance in relation to zoning laws, fire regulations, building codes and other ordinances; convey applicable changes of local, state, and federal regulations and ordinances to project team
  • Supervise and direct a multi-disciplined team of professionals, pre-professionals, technicians, and interns throughout the contract document phases of a project; serve as a mentor for less experienced Project Managers and developing Engineers and/or Architects
  • Regularly schedule internal meetings with project team to ensure design progress is being met and project specifications are complementary to drawings
  • Review the performance and work quality of the project team and provide feedback to the Federal Market Sector Leader and department managers; recognize outstanding contributions and provide constructive feedback for areas of improvement
  • Track project performance through periodic ‘health checks’ of projects and ongoing team interaction. Report on progress monthly to Operations and Finance.
  • Maintain frequent contact with clientele to ensure any questions, concerns, or comments regarding the project are addressed in a prompt and professional manner. Applicant must be able to pass DoD background check to obtain access to military installations.
  • Conduct job-site visits to monitor general conformance with the contact documents
  • Perform other duties as assigned or instructed

Education And License Requirements

  • Professional license required (Minnesota preferred)
  • 5+ years of progressive project leadership experience

Qualifications

  • Must have a proven track record as a Healthcare Project Manager with complex and fast-paced projects involving work that ranges from pre-design through construction administration, including contract negotiation, work plan development, and the ability to work with a variety of project delivery methodologies.
  • Intimate knowledge and understanding of FGI, IBC, and NFPA as applicable to healthcare projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with project personnel, internal office staff, and clientele.

Responsibilities

Project Managers are responsible to drive results by coordinating the workload of the project team through all project stages to complete documents within project scope, on schedule, and meeting the client’s and Company’s budgets. This position requires involvement with the management, production, and coordination of several projects concurrently.   • LEED® Accredited Professional

The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the implementation of the company’s Federal Strategic Plan through project delivery with a focus on the west coast / California area of influence. The candidate will strive for increased client satisfaction and financially efficient project delivery. This position also closely supports the development of relevant business opportunities within the Federal Government Market Sector in the Western US region. Activities include but are not limited to directly managing large and complex federal architecture and building projects ensuring results meet client and office expectations. Additionally, it supports the development and maintenance of client relations with key Federal Government clientele as well as with federal AEC industry partners in the Western US Region. This position reports directly to the Los Angeles studio Director of Operations and coordinates with the Corporate Director of Federal Programs, Federal Client Managers, and other individuals and studios to grow the firm’s Federal Market Sector.

Responsibilities

Project Execution:

  • Directly manage large complex Federal projects
  • Provide supervision of project teams and assist as necessary to ensure performance of quality, financial, and strategic goals
  • Assist the Director of Quality Assurance by monitoring and reviewing the technical quality of documents produced in accordance with government and company standards, policies, and procedures
  • Lead Federal contract negotiations and client relations with studio leadership
  • Provide leadership which is motivational and inspirational to project team
  • Perform other duties as assigned or instructed

Business Development

  • Support the positioning of the firm with Federal clients by developing relationships with key decision makers within the Federal Government
  • Support the Identification and tracking of opportunity leads with Federal Government clientele
  • Develop and position the firm for responding to appropriate government solicitations including building strategic teaming relationships with large and small business partners including AEs (design-bid-build) and GCs (design-build)
  • Evaluate and assist the go/no-go process for solicitations for AE services or Design-Build services on both stand-alone project pursuits and/or IDIQ/MATOC pursuits
  • Support the SF330 qualification responses and other appropriate responses in collaboration with marketing staff and project personnel
  • Serve as program manager on active Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts and aggressively “mine” their capacity through client engagement at multiple levels
  • As Market Sector Leader (MSL), cultivate a reputation for thought leadership by speaking at conventions and events, primarily with the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), and publishing articles in journals and magazines, demonstrating the value that our firm can bring to Federal clients

Administrative

  • Take an active role in the training of staff members in Federal Government Project Delivery to help develop studio-level Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
  • Assist the Managing Principal and Director of Operations in determining the personnel needs for the Government Business Team and individual projects, based upon the current and projected workload; convey personnel needs to the Director of Operations
  • Review the performance and work quality of project personnel and participate in evaluations on an annual basis as needed
  • Evaluate scope, complexity, and scheduling requirements of projects; validate work planning strategies to ensure successful project execution; assist with mentoring and training others on the execution of federal projects and knowledge cross-sharing of FAR and UFC compliance
  • Serve as Program Manager, Project Manager, and/or Principal in Charge as required
  • Excellent client management, customer service skills to include strong emotional intelligence and judgement

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Project Management and Design experience within the Federal vertical facilities design and construction field; possess a bachelor’s degree in architecture (preferred) or engineering; maintain current registration/license in their profession
  • Proven track record of successfully securing and delivering contracts to Federal Agency clients
  • Minimum 15 years of Architectural/Engineering firm experience or 10 years with a Federal Agency or agencies with AE projects as Prime, Design/Build and On Call (IDIQ) Contracts
  • Western region Federal Sector experience working with multiple stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Participate in high-energy, collaborative team and project environments.
  • Provide project leadership on multi-disciplined teams in delivery of architecture and engineering services to support the needs of our Healthcare clientele.
  • Establish and discuss project goals, objectives, design standards and procedures with project team and Healthcare Market Sector Leader.
  • Manage team complexity – plans, organizes, and supervises the work of a design staff of approximately 5 to 10+ individuals.
  • Manage consultant team members as needed on projects including defining scope of work, expectations, and fee allocations, formalize agreements and coordinate their interaction with internal team.
  • Review the performance and work quality of the project team and provide feedback to the Market Sector Leader and department managers; recognize outstanding contributions and provide constructive feedback for areas of improvement.
  • Coordinate and participate in reviews with Minnesota Department of Health,
  • Metropolitan Council, and various other governing agencies for code compliance in relation to all applicable codes, guidelines, and ordinances.
  • Conduct job-site visits to monitor general conformance with the contact documents.
  • Build and maintain day-to-day working relationship with client(s) and consultants.
  • Assist with proposal development in pursuit of new business.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or instructed.

Qualifications

  • Must have a proven track record as a Healthcare Project Manager with complex and fast-paced projects involving work that ranges from pre-design through construction administration, including contract negotiation, work plan development, and the ability to work with a variety of project delivery methodologies.
  • Intimate knowledge and understanding of FGI, IBC, and NFPA as applicable to healthcare projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with project personnel, internal office staff, and clientele.
  • Ability to lead others and bring about solidarity within a diverse group to meet determined goals.
  • Ability to bring energy to a task and inspire others to reach a common goal while performing to the best of their ability.
  • Proficient computer skills with use of Autodesk products, Microsoft Office and
  • Bluebeam; Deltek experience is a plus.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills; ability to become involved in multiple projects and remain up to date on the various development stages.
  • Demonstrated skills for efficient and timely project planning, scheduling and budgeting.
  • Working knowledge of fee proposals, negotiations, and contract/subcontract administration.
  • Detailed understanding of various regulatory building codes.

Education And License Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university in Architecture or Engineering or 2 years of experience as a Project Manager in the A/C/E industry.
  • Master’s Degree or other advanced education is a plus.
  • Professional license in Architecture or Engineering preferred.
  • Professional expertise demonstrated through 7-15 years of experience with a high degree of technical complexity and healthcare project.
  • 5+ years of progressive project leadership experience.
