POSITION: Engineering Project Manager

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple projects from development to production.
  • Meet customer demands, achieve overall project timing and meet financial targets
  • Be the primary point of communication between the customer and the project team
  • Provide technical direction and serve as the point of contact for design engineering and process/manufacturing engineering.
  • Work together with internal management teams and customer management teams to plan, develop, control and direct the projects.
  • Coordinate ongoing analyses of projects and development activities to identify cost saving opportunities, quality improvements, and process improvements.
  • Support sales teams in presenting new technologies and products to existing customers and current products to potential new customers.
  • Plan programs with multiple technical components, track budgets and timelines, and prepare/present status reports for management.
  • Manage the Engineering Change Notice (ECNs) needed for the project(s), being the Gate Keeper of the ECN process.

Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any Engineering, Business, or related field (Foreign degree equivalent accepted)
    • 3 (three) years of project management experience or related

Program Manager – Team Lead

Ensure the delivery of new products or services from the projects is to the appropriate levels of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the program plan. Facilitate day to day duties within the team and communicate clear instructions to team members. Provide or coordinate any training that team members need. Review Program Manager’s project budgets, monitoring the expenditures and costs against delivered and realized benefits as the program progresses. Manage and coordinate the efforts to have the Business Unit Program Managers follow the process and work on strategies to improve the global PM strategies. Support the Program Managers to plan the program in R-Plan and monitor its overall progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate. Management and analysis of open issues or potential program challenges. Build, manage and motivate the assigned Business Unit Program Management team. Responsible for the quality assurance and overall integrity of the program. Facilitate cross functional team meetings (Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Sales, etc.) in order to support successful projects. Communicate and facilitate closure of issues with all parties (PM, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Manufacturing) as required. Manage the risks to the program’s successful outcome. Report progress of the program at regular intervals to the Management of Program Managers and other key members of the management team

    • Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or its foreign educational equivalent, followed by five years of progressive experience in the position offered, or in a similar position, such as Program Engineer, Program Manager or Engineering Chief. Experience must include management of multiple automotive projects in terms of cost, timing and product, using customer specific requirements and APQP methodology implementing Product Life cycle Processes to achieve customer targets and deliverables.
    • Work location: Rochester Hills, MI
    • Travel: 10% of time, includes international
