We are currrently looking for an experience Project Manager with underground utilties project experiece. This position is with one of the top contractors in the area. Relocation will be considered for the right candidate.

The Project Manager will provide overall management direction to projects, will establish project objectives, will maintain liaisons with prime client contacts, and will monitor all construction and financial activities.

Job Functions:

  • Create an understanding of the project plans
  • Track and Review Crews and subcontractor's quantities daily, checking for accuracy, and progress. Enter progress into Viewpoint daily.
  • Review estimates
  • Review subcontractor's invoices
  • Review Budget/Cost/Production reports with Superintendent.
  • Assist in maintaining the project submittal register to include review and approval of subcontractor submittals
  • Maintain the project specific RFI log.
  • Perform project completion Quality Control Checklists.
  • Obtain and submit all COI's, CCIP, OCIP, DBE, CBE, etc.
  • Review submittals/ shop drawings for subcontractors prior to submission to owner.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management, preferred
  • Desired 3+ years of experience fully managing construction projects to include all aspects such as: scheduling, budgets, customer relations, change orders, and handling issues/problems that arise with exceptional resolution.

Construction Services

  • Provides construction services as required by project to include providing excellent customer service and satisfaction; manages the clients' expectations for optimal success.
  • Ensure project controls are executed consistently and professionally, including accurately track project budgets and prepare forecasts; prepare and maintain project schedule; review and track submittals or delegate to a project engineer providing oversight to the project engineer to ensure proper completion, and manage project close out.
  • Manage multiple smaller projects. You will be running 4 to 5 projects ranging from $100,000 to $1 million. Average $5 to 7 million in managed projects per year. Typical project duration is 6-weeks.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises Project Foreman, Superintendent, and Project Coordinators involved in each project. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with our Client's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems; mentors Project Foreman.

Work with superintendents and foremen to plan, organize and direct activities concerned withconstruction projects.

Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers and clients. Formulate reports concerning such areas as work progress, costs and scheduling.

    • Communicates with customer before each jobsite delivery to assure proper scheduling of delivery and assures all logistics regarding delivery commitments are fulfilled.
    • Coordinates job site meetings to assure that salesperson is able to attend according to the customer's schedule and requirements. Attends meetings and takes notes of meeting when salesperson cannot attend.
    • Proactively anticipates customer needs and actively and periodically solicits feedback on Cook and Boardman performance.
    • Participates in developing solutions for customers and salesperson with technical issues involving hardware and door products.
    • Monitors production schedules
    • Manages any project changes, revisions, revised purchase orders and changes order documents and Comsense files to show revisions.
    • Attends weekly sales meetings to provide information or input for any customer services issues
